Free Teacher Resources
It is critical for teachers of all grades and levels to have good resources on hand at all times. Though districts and states supply certain curriculum and schools have school wide books that they choose to use, it’s always good to have some other resources on hand. Some resources are provided by the school or the district, but in many cities and places, the number of students far outweighs the amount of money and resources available at the school level. That’s unfortunate, and so teachers have to find their own resources for their classes. Some resources are available through various books, so you can access them through libraries or through other teachers. But there are also very many free teacher resources online, and you can find them with a simple search. For example, places like Enchanted Learning have free resources available while they also have a subscription level that allows full access to all of their items. There are many more websites like that one available. There are also community websites and message boards that allow teachers to share resources, compare notes, ask questions, and provide helpful feedback and stories of their time in the trenches, so to speak.
Teachers aren’t the only ones who have reason to seek out free resources. Substitute teachers often have a great need for a wide variety of resources, especially since they are often stepping into an unknown and even hostile environment. Parents who tutor or teach their children at home might also be interested in free resources.
